Medvedev called the discussion of tanks for Ukraine at the economic forum in Davos a shame

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council (SC) of Russia Dmitry Medvedev considers it a shame that the World Economic Forum in Davos is discussing the supply of tanks to Ukraine. “Earlier, they discussed something else in Davos. Like the economy and all that,” Mr. Medvedev wrote in Telegram-channel.
Earlier today, on January 17, Polish President Andrzej Duda, speaking at the Davos forum, called on European leaders to transfer Leopard tanks to Kyiv in order to form a small tank brigade for Ukraine.
“There are a number of European countries that have these tanks, and I expect the Allies to give up several to several dozen tanks, thanks to which I believe that at least a tank brigade for Ukraine will be formed,” said Mr. Duda (quote from RIA Novosti).
Commenting on the Polish president’s speech, Dmitry Medvedev wrote, “It’s good that there is neither Russian nor Chinese business there today.” Previously Bloomberg reported that Russian businessmen would not be at the Davos forum amid hostilities in Ukraine, and Chinese businessmen would not come there due to a surge in the incidence of COVID-19 and a fall in the stock market.
According to Dmitry Medvedev, instead of a tank brigade, the heads of European countries should “draw up a collective paper about the surrender of the rotten Kyiv regime in order to save people.”
The World Economic Forum will be held from 16 to 20 January in Davos, Switzerland. The Chinese delegation will visit the forum, but in a reduced format. Russia will not be represented at the event, as the organizers suspended work with all Russian organizations back in March last year.
