Medvedev called the conflict with Ukraine and Europe a new Patriotic War

The conflict in Ukraine can be called a new Patriotic War, in which Russia will also win, Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said in his Telegram channel.

Medvedev referred in his publication to the words of the head of diplomacy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, who earlier called Russia accustomed to fighting to the end and mentioned its victories over Napoleon and Hitler.

“Well done, after all, this Borrell with an extinct face. I remembered that our country defeated Napoleon and Hitler. Note that he himself drew the analogy. Accordingly, the Ukronazis and Western Europe are the direct heirs of those who fought against Russia. And the war, therefore, with them is a new Patriotic War, ”- wrote Medvedev.

The politician added that the victory would be for Russia, as happened in 1812 and 1945.

Borrell at a ceremony in Madrid, where he was awarded the New Economy Forum Prize, spoke about Moscow’s past victories and called for arming Ukraine.

“Russia is a big country, it is used to fighting to the end, it is used to almost losing and then recovering everything. She did it to Napoleon, she did it to Hitler. It would be absurd to think that Russia lost the war or that its military is incompetent… Therefore, right now it is necessary to continue arming Ukraine,” he said.

Medvedev also said this week that losing a nuclear power in a conventional conflict could lead to nuclear war. He pointed out that on January 20, at the American Ramstein air base in Germany, Ukraine’s allies would discuss further assistance to Kyiv, despite the fact that the same issue was also discussed at the economic forum in Davos.
