Medvedev called ISIS a “traditional partner” of Kyiv

ISIS (IS, a terrorist group banned in Russia) is a traditional partner of the Ukrainian authorities, stated Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev. This is how he commented on the words of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about the connection between Hamas and Russia.

“It makes no sense to talk to drug addicts in the language of reason, to urge them to use their brains. <...> Therefore, we must answer this way: ISIS (Islamic State) is a traditional partner of the Ukrainian regime, carrying out its terrorist missions throughout the planet,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to Medvedev, terrorists regularly receive large sponsorship contributions from Kyiv and weapons from NATO supplies to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. IS members, he claims, have secret accounts in Ukrainian banks and real estate in the country.

The day before, Zelensky wrote in his Telegram channel that he held a meeting with intelligence leaders and diplomats on the situation in Israel. He also stated that, according to their information, “Russia is interested in starting a war in the Middle East.”

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov named These accusations are groundless, highlighting that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has many deep contradictions.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, responded to Zelensky’s words. “The purest data was delivered to Bankovaya. Zelensky hasn’t had such compelling data for a long time,” commented she is in the Telegram channel with words from the Ukrainian president.

On the morning of October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas began military operations against Israel. In response, the Israeli army launched Operation Iron Swords. The total number of deaths during the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, according to the latest data, has already exceeded 1,500 people. Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov previously reported that the number of Russian citizens killed as a result of the attack by the Palestinian group had increased to two.

Russian President Vladimir Putin named the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East is a clear example of the failure of US policy in this region. In his assessment, Washington’s actions did not take into account the “core interests” of the Palestinian people and the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state.
