Medvedev announced the elimination of the imbalance in the allowances of mobilized and contract soldiers

The imbalance in the amount of monetary allowance received by mobilized citizens and contractors has been eliminated, said Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, at a meeting on the issues of replenishing the RF Armed Forces. “The imbalance in the size of the monetary allowance of mobilized and contract soldiers has also been eliminated. Incentive and compensation payments have been established in all regions,” he said.

Today, one-time payments and credit holidays have been introduced for contractors, as well as the preservation of their jobs, he recalled.

Thanks to these and other measures, more than 231,000 people were accepted into the Russian Armed Forces (AF) under contract from January to August this year, Medvedev concluded.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced in January that all planned changes in the Russian army, including an increase in its strength to 1.5 million people, would be implemented by 2026. He called for special attention to be paid to the recruitment of contract soldiers, ensuring the timely supply of weapons, and increasing the number of training grounds in military districts and annexed territories, etc.

Earlier in July, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which foreigners who have signed a contract for service with the Ministry of Defense will be able to obtain a residence permit (permit) in a simplified manner. In the event of the death of a foreigner who has already signed a contract, the simplified procedure for obtaining a residence permit applies to members of his family.
