Medvedev announced that residents of some countries are switching to firewood and coal

In a number of countries, some residents are switching to firewood and coal, said Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, speaking about the ongoing connection to the gas supply of Russians at a meeting on gasification of the country.

The social gasification program has been operating in Russia since 2021. It assumes that the level of gasification of regions will increase from 71% in 2020 to 82.9% by 2030. The total costs are estimated at 567.5 billion rubles. A single gasification operator – OOO “Gazprom gasification” (structure of Gazprom’s subsidiary “Gazprom Mezhregiongaz).

At the end of August, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak to work out additional subsidies for social gasification, and already on October 12, he instructed the government to extend the social gasification program after 2022. At a meeting of the international forum “Russian Energy Week» The head of state noted that despite the difficult economic situation, facilities with a total capacity of more than 2,000 MW were commissioned and modernized in Russia in 2022.

On December 1, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a resolution according to which the program of social gasification in the country becomes indefinite and applies to medical and educational institutions.
