Medvedev announced Russia’s intention to continue to “liberate territories”

United Russia chairman and deputy chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia would continue to “liberate territories occupied by Ukrainian neo-Nazis.” According to him, the armed forces will “protect people on their own land” who have entrusted their fate to Russia.
“No matter what our enemies are trying to do today, and what their puppets in Kyiv are talking about, now these are new subjects of the Russian Federation. We will protect people on our land who have entrusted us with their fate, and, of course, we will continue to liberate the territories still occupied by neo-Nazis,” Mr. Medvedev said at the party’s general council (quoted by RIA Novosti).
“At the same time, I want to specifically emphasize that we are not fighting with Ukraine as such, the goals of the so-called global West represented by the United States and the main hangers-on are extremely clear: the destruction of Russia while weakening other countries, by the way, including European ones,” he added.
On February 24, Russia launched a military special operation in Ukraine. From September 23 to 27, referendums were held in the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as a result of which Russia annexed these territories. At the same time, the issue of the border between the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions remains open, since hostilities are taking place there. On September 21, partial mobilization was announced in Russia.
