Medvedev announced Poland’s desire to “swallow the remnants of Ukraine”

Poland wants to take “geopolitical revenge” from Russia and “swallow” part of Ukraine. In the future, such plans may pose a threat to Europe and a benefit to Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, believes.

“The Warsaw elites are sleeping and see how to take geopolitical revenge from Russia, including reviewing the results of the Pereyaslav Rada. In the current circumstances, an outraged Poland has decided that the chance to swallow the remnants of Ukraine can be realized either now or never.” wrote politician in his Telegram channel.

According to Medvedev, in the future, the “Polish-Ukrainian configuration” can engage in “historical revanchism.” As an example, he cited Poland’s demand to Germany for reparations for damage caused during the Second World War. Medvedev noted that “this is only the beginning” and added that Poland is accustomed to “living in grand style solely at the expense of others.” The politician expects that only then the European authorities will “catch on” and turn to Russia for help.

Medvedev said that Poland “is no match for Russia and never will be.” He stressed that Poland is an “infinitely hostile entity” for Russia “with or without pieces of Ukraine.” The politician also threatened Warsaw with Russian missiles. “The presence of Bandera in the Polish Army also does not make a difference. And it does not affect the accuracy of the use of Sarmats, Caliber and Zircons, ”he concluded.

The Russian authorities, citing intelligence data, have repeatedly warned about Poland’s plans to seize part of Ukraine. In particular, in November 2022, the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin arguedthat Poland is preparing for the annexation of the territories of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and most of the Ternopil regions of Ukraine. Earlier in Warsaw, such allegations were denied.

In May 2022, President of Poland Andrzej Duda assuredthat there will be no borders between Poland and Ukraine in the future.
