Medvedev admitted the participation of foreign experts in an attempted rebellion

Foreign specialists can take part in an attempt to organize a military rebellion. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, writes “RIA News”.

“Taking into account the high preparedness of the scheme, the professional coherence of actions, the high-quality management of the movement of troops, we can talk about the presence of a well-thought-out military plan and the participation in the rebellion of persons who previously served in the elite units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and quite likely, foreign specialists,” vice president said.

He also called “nonsense” speculation on “past grievances, non-fulfillment of certain obligations.” Medvedev added that this was “a well-thought-out and planned operation, the purpose of which is to seize power in the country.”

“We understand the consequences of a coup d’état in the largest nuclear power. <...> In the history of mankind, there has never been such a thing that the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons was under the control of bandits. <...> We will not allow events to follow such a scenario,” Medvedev said.

On the evening of June 23, Yevgeny Prigozhin accused the army of shelling the Wagner PMC camp, which he founded. The Ministry of Defense stated that reports of attacks on Wagner PMC fighters are not true and are an “information provocation.” The Investigation Department of the FSB of Russia opened a criminal case on the organization of an armed rebellion against Prigozhin.

Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the citizens of Russia, the personnel of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation, law enforcement agencies and special services. He stated that all those who prepared an armed rebellion, “took the path of blackmail and terrorist methods”, will be punished – “they will answer both before the law and before our people.”
