Medinsky: canceling a social studies lesson for grades 6-8 will not deprive children of knowledge
The fact that social studies will be removed from the curriculum for grades 6-8 will not affect the level of knowledge of students, said Assistant to the President of Russia Vladimir Medinsky.
According to him, all the necessary materials will either be included in history lessons or taught in higher grades.
Medinsky believes that such a step will benefit both teachers and students. At the same time, a new social studies textbook for grades 9-11 should not be expected before 2025.
According to Medinsky, changes in the curriculum will not cause an increase in the burden on children. According to him, educational materials on history and social studies are synchronized.
In August 2023, new history textbooks for high school students appeared in Russia; among other things, a section on the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine was added.
