Crematoria in China are overflowing with dead bodies due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is reported by the medical journal Medical Xpress. The increase in the number of people infected with COVID-19 was due to the lifting of quarantine restrictions.
It is noted that the country is experiencing a shortage of medicines, overtime work in hospitals, as well as interruptions in the work of crematoria and funeral services.
“We are very busy, there is no more space in the cold room to store the bodies,” a worker at a crematorium in Chongqing said.
Crematoria are reported to be overcrowded in many Chinese provinces. One of the employees believes that over time the flow of bodies will increase several times. Currently, 40 bodies are cremated per day.
