Medical universities in Moscow raised tuition fees

Moscow medical universities have increased the cost of residency, master’s and postgraduate studies for the 2022-2023 academic year. Fee in some areas increased by almost a third. About it informs medical publication “Medvestnik”.

At the First Moscow State Medical University. I. M. Sechenov, most residency programs have risen in price slightly – from 825 thousand to 855 thousand rubles. In some areas (obstetrics and gynecology, dermatovenereology, dentistry, maxillofacial and plastic surgery), the price has not changed: it remained at the level of 923 thousand rubles. The most noticeable increase was the cost of full-time postgraduate education in the direction of “Fundamental Medicine / Biomedical Sciences” – from 1.10 million to 1.55 million rubles. The cost of residency in cardiovascular surgery also increased significantly – from 825 thousand to 1.315 million rubles.

In RNIMU them. N. I. Pirogov, almost all areas of training added 40 thousand rubles to the cost. and amounted to 500 thousand rubles. The exception was the training of specialists in plastic surgery, which went up by 100,000 rubles, from 500,000 to 600,000 rubles.

At MGMSU them. A. I. Evdokimov, most residency programs have risen in price from 732.5 thousand to 828 thousand rubles. for two years of study. The two-year cycles in urology and maxillofacial surgery increased less significantly – from 855 thousand to 877 thousand rubles, therapeutic and surgical dentistry – from 820 thousand to 836 thousand rubles – and orthopedic dentistry – from 920 thousand to 958 .8 thousand rubles

The cost of tuition in full-time postgraduate study of the Third Medical School has also risen. The cost of training in biological sciences increased by 85 thousand rubles, in fundamental medicine – by 81 thousand rubles. The price increase for postgraduate studies in clinical medicine ranged from 61,000 to 81,000 rubles. depending on the profile.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko reported that the government had increased the number of state-funded residency places by 13.6% to 19.7 thousand. Almost all agreements on targeted education are concluded by the subjects of Russia with further mandatory employment of graduates.

Now in the Russian health care there is a significant shortage of medical personnel. It is assumed that the tightening of employment conditions for graduates of medical universities can reduce this deficit.
