Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky plans to take part in a meeting of the UN Security Council next week. He may end up at the same table with the Russian delegation, reported Politico newspaper citing a Western diplomat.
The publication noted that the group of Russian representatives at the next session of the UN General Assembly will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. According to preliminary data, he may also take part in the Security Council meeting.
Zelensky plans to speak at the UN on September 19, the newspaper added. The Ukrainian leader is going to request international support for a “peace plan” and discuss options for solving the food crisis.

He noted that he would raise these issues during personal meetings, which should take place next week.
