Media: Zelensky is angry because the West’s interest in Ukraine is cooling

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was angry after a visit to Washington where he encountered calls to fight corruption in Ukraine and waning enthusiasm for a conflict “with no end in sight.” About it reported The Time magazine with reference to one of the members of the entourage of the head of Ukraine.

“The usual sparkle of optimism, a sense of humor, a tendency to liven up meetings with a joke or an obscene joke – all this has not been preserved,” said one of the long-time members of Zelensky’s team. Another source of the publication said that most of all Zelensky feels betrayed by his Western allies. They deprived him of the means to successfully continue the confrontation, leaving only “the means to survive.”

Earlier, The Times newspaper reported disagreements regarding the completion of the Ukrainian counteroffensive between Zelensky and the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian troops Valery Zaluzhny. According to the publication, Zaluzhny is of the opinion that the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is close to completion and at the moment it is necessary to hold on to what we have and prepare for the operation next year. Zelensky, in turn, believes that it is impossible to stop at this stage, because the patience of the Western allies may soon come to an end.
