Washington is waging an unspoken and undeclared war against Turkey, writes Tamer Korkmaz, a columnist for the Yeni Safak newspaper. This is stated in the material RIA Novosti.
The reason for the article was the joint exercises of the US military with militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) banned in Turkey. The observer points out that representatives of the American command even take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the completion of training by Kurdish fighters.
“Turkey is in a state of secret, unspoken, undeclared war with the United States, which is actually its strategic adversary,” Korkmaz said.
At the same time, he questions the credibility of US President Joe Biden’s statement that relations between Washington and Ankara have “entered a new era.”
The list of claims against the Americans is not limited to this. The Turkish observer notes that the United States sent a warship to the coast of Cyprus after the clashes between UN peacekeepers and Turkish Cypriots. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the unwillingness of the Americans to impose an arms embargo on Cyprus.
