Media: Turkish ship was damaged by a mine in the Black Sea

The cargo ship carrying the Turkish flag was blown up by a mine in the Black Sea off the coast of Romania on October 5, sustaining minor damage. reported Reuters agency.
According to British maritime safety company Ambrey, the ship exploded about 11 nautical miles (20.3 km) from the entrance to the Sulina Canal. As noted, the ship dropped anchor to assess the damage and resumed movement after about three hours. There were no reports of casualties.
Information about the incident was confirmed to the agency by the Ukrainian government; according to an unnamed official, it could have been a mine from World War II or one of the landing mines laid last year.
The consulting company Bosphorus Observer clarified that we are talking about the bulk carrier Kafkametler, which received minor damage to its ballast tank. After the incident, the ship dropped anchor in the Danube Strait near the Ukrainian terminal of Vilkovo, according to MarineTraffic data.
