Trains with Ukrainian military and weapons are heading to the border with the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. This was reported by the Ukrainian media on Wednesday, May 3.
According to the media, the wagons are loaded with artillery pieces and ammunition, as well as armored vehicles.
The founder of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin also noted that in the region of Odessa and near the borders of Transnistria “there is an accumulation of forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
Earlier, sources reported that Kyiv had deployed up to 4,000 military personnel to the Odessa region, who should participate in the preparation of an offensive in Transnistria, scheduled for May 9-15. Vladimir Bruter, an expert on the International Institute for Humanitarian and Political Studies, a specialist on Moldova, said that such provocations are intended force Russia to open a “second front”.
Former Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Vladimir Boldyrev noted that in case of Kyiv provocation everything will depend on how the government and people of Transnistria, as well as Russian peacekeepers, will react.
