Delays in the repair of American military equipment in Ukraine were a factor that led to its failure, the Pentagon reported. The official representative of the department, Patrick Ryder, noted that the reason was the refusal of Congress to provide additional funding. This situation not only blocks the flow of new aid, but also undermines support for weapons already in service.

The Ukrainian military is forced to curtail operations on the front line. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky previously expressed concerns about this situation in an interview with Business Insider. He warned of possible artillery shortages, a significant shortage of anti-aircraft missiles and high levels of military casualties.

Earlier, John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communications at the National Security Council, expressed the possibility of Western countries refusing to support Kyiv if the US Congress does not allocate new funds. The White House administration sent a request to Congress several months ago, asking for about $106 billion, including about $60 billion for Ukraine.
