Media: the temporary US budget can be adopted without spending items on Ukraine

The United States is discussing the possibility of adopting a temporary budget that does not contain expenses for Ukraine, writes the American publication The Hill.
“Republican senators are discussing the possibility of introducing a bill that would extend funding for the US federal government for two weeks, without including funds to support Ukraine,” the material says.
Earlier it was reported that the US Congress has one day left to agree on at least a temporary budget to avoid a government shutdown. The House of Representatives, where the Republicans have a majority, has previously agreed on a project that fundamentally does not suit the Democrats and the White House. At the same time, the project being discussed in the Senate, where the Democrats have a majority, contains $6.2 billion for Ukraine, but does not involve the allocation of funds to solve problems on the border with Mexico, which fundamentally does not suit the Republicans.
Earlier, Shalanda Young, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, said that the United States would have funds to send aid to Ukraine in the event of a possible shutdown of the federal government. However, she added, Washington is also concerned about its own reserves, as well as the combat readiness of its forces.
Assistant to the US President for National Security Jake Sullivan, in an interview with the American publication The Atlantic, said that the Biden administration intends to enlist the support of Congress in order to ensure the provision of assistance to Ukraine for years to come. At the same time, Sullivan noted that the American administration “has procedural difficulties in approving funds for Ukraine.”
