Media: Sweden can send fighter jets to Ukraine only after joining NATO

Sweden can officially begin supplying fighter jets to the Kyiv regime only after joining NATO, Sky TV channel reports.
On Friday, the Swedish government announced its 14th military aid package to Kyiv and assessed the likelihood that it could transfer its Gripen fighter jets.
Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson said lawmakers were assessing “the conditions under which Sweden can contribute to the field of combat aircraft.”
“We can do this by expanding our participation in the F-16 coalition or by donating or exporting the Gripen system,” he said. The results of this assessment are due next month.
According to Johnson, a prerequisite for the provision of fighters is that Sweden becomes a NATO ally.
“We had a dialogue with the Ukrainians and they expressed their understanding of this,” Johnson said.
Russia warned NATO countries about arms supplies to Kyiv. In a statement, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia.
