Media: State Duma deputy Kolesnik may be deprived of his mandate
[ad_1]
According to Vedomosti, if the Prosecutor General’s Office makes claims against the United Russia deputy Andrey Kolesnik, who was convicted of conducting commercial activities by managing the Kaliningrad Commercial Sea Port, then he may be deprived of his mandate.
This assumption was made by lawyers interviewed by the publication. They explained that under Russian law, parliamentarians are prohibited from engaging in commercial activities.
Deputy Kolesnik himself told Vedomosti that he was not afraid of losing his mandate. The representative of the apparatus of the State Duma commission on issues of control over the reliability of information on income specified that the request from the Prosecutor General’s Office had not yet come to the commission. Vedomosti sent a request to the supervisory authority.
