Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu “fundamentally shook up” the leadership of military command and control bodies and districts, reported RIA Novosti agency, citing a source close to the Ministry of Defense.

“Today, during a thematic conference call at the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu thoroughly shook up the leadership of the central military command and control bodies together with the commanders of military districts, and set a number of specific tasks,” he said.

Earlier October 25 Shoigu inspected forward command post of the Vostok group of troops in the South Donetsk direction. He heard reports from the group commander and headquarters officers “on the current situation, the nature of the enemy’s actions and the performance of combat missions by Russian troops in the main tactical directions.”

At the beginning of October, the minister visited several factories, where he checked the progress of the state defense order. In particular, on October 11, he visited the Aviastar plant (part of Rostec) for the production of military transport aircraft in Ulyanovsk. On October 10, Shoigu inspected the work of the Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant (UMZ; part of Almaz-Antey) and looked at the work of the workshops for the production of Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM).

October 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with members of the Security Council the use of new technologies for state defense.
