Angelina Jolie harshly condemned Israel over strikes on Gaza Strip

Actress Angelina Jolie condemned the Israeli army’s strikes on the Gaza Strip, which followed the attack by Hamas militants on border settlements and the massacre of civilians. According to official data, about one and a half thousand people in Israel, including children, became victims of the attack; at least one and a half hundred people were taken hostage and taken to the territory of the enclave. Following the militant attack, the IDF began launching rocket attacks on the Gaza Strip and later announced a ground operation to liberate it. Hamas structures claimed several thousand dead.

“This is a deliberate bombing of a trapped population with nowhere to escape,” Jolie said on social media, posting photos of the aftermath of the Israeli strikes.

According to the Hollywood star, “Gaza was an open-air prison for almost two decades” and is now “turning into a mass grave.” She also stated that 40% of those killed were innocent children.

The actress accused world leaders of allegedly blocking the UN Security Council and not demanding a ceasefire from both sides: “They are becoming accomplices in the crime.”

A few days ago, Jolie already spoke out on social networks on the topic of Palestinian-Israeli aggravation. She called the Hamas attack on October 7 an “act of terror.” At the same time, she expressed the opinion that this cannot be a justification for “the loss of innocent lives in the bombings in Gaza.”
