Media: Poland transferred about 10 Mi-24 helicopters to Ukraine

Warsaw recently handed over about 10 Mi-24 helicopters to Kyiv, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.

By data publications, the transfer of helicopters, which should help Ukraine in the counteroffensive, was not disclosed.

On July 7, it became known that the Czech Republic would transfer combat helicopters and ammunition to Kyiv. In addition, Prague put training simulators for training pilots, including pilots for F-16 fighters, so that training takes place on the territory of Ukraine.

At the end of June, the Latvian authorities announced that the republic intended to transfer to Ukraine all the helicopters it had. Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins also said that Latvia had already sent all of its Stinger missiles to Kyiv.

According to the Kiel Institute, from January 22, 2022 to January 31, 2023, the United States remains the leader in absolute agreed promised supplies – 42.8 billion euros. The second place is taken by Germany (7.5 billion euros), the third – by the UK (6.58 billion euros). Fourth place is occupied by Poland with 3 billion euros of obligations for the supply of weapons, the fifth – the Netherlands (2.45 billion euros).

The Kremlin has repeatedly spoken out about the impossibility of influencing the course of the special operation by supplying weapons to Kyiv. On May 23, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the supply of military aircraft by Western countries to Ukraine, as well as other equipment, is not capable of changing the situation on the line of contact. Also in March, Peskov said that the supply of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine would not affect the course of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, but at the same time would cause additional problems for Ukraine itself. The press secretary said about the impossibility of “changing the course of events” by supplying weapons to Kyiv in the winter.
