On the eve of the Chinese New Year, there is an increase in the interest of the Chinese in traveling to Russia, according to the material of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
With reference to WeChat Index data, ATOR notes that the hashtag “Travel in Russia” was extremely popular among Chinese users during the New Year holidays in the Russian Federation and on the eve of the Chinese New Year. Thus, almost 80 and 60 million such requests were recorded every day, respectively.
It is noted that according to the WeChat Index, last year the leaders in terms of requests from Chinese tourists were Moscow and St. Petersburg. A high number of requests for the border cities of Vladivostok and Khabarovsk was also noted, which is associated with intensive cross-border tourist exchange. In addition, interest was noted in Lake Baikal, in the northern lights in Murmansk, as well as in Kazan.
