AfD MP will be called upon to withdraw from the elections due to information about “Russian money”

The German right-wing party Alternative for Germany (AfD) is going to strongly recommend its MP Petr Bystron, who, according to Czech media, allegedly received Russian money, to refuse elections to the European Parliament. Bild provides such data, citing its sources. The deputy himself denied the reports of the Czech media.

A meeting of the party’s executive committee will be held on this matter, where Bystron will most likely be advised to abandon an active election campaign in the European Union and not to accept a mandate in the future after the elections.

Bystron himself called the accusations of receiving money from an organization allegedly connected to Russia an attempt to influence the result of the upcoming elections to the European Parliament.

Meanwhile, according to the electoral legislation, the AfD party no longer has time to remove a deputy from the electoral lists and thereby remove him from the election race.
