Media: German MP secretly visited Belarus

MP from the Alternative for Germany party Piotr Bistron may have secretly visited Belarus and did not mention it in the trip report, reports RND.
The publication, citing information from a source in the Lithuanian border service, reports that on November 16, 2022, the German parliamentarian entered Belarus through a checkpoint in the city of Medininkai. The deputy went back three days later.
Journalists do not understand why the German MP secretly visited a country that supports Russia in the Ukrainian conflict. The deputy himself refuses to comment.
Bistron is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag. The head of this committee, Michael Roth, confirmed the politician’s trip to Lithuania at the end of 2022, as he wrote an application for a trip abroad. Belarus is not mentioned in the report.
