FT: several European countries refused Kyiv’s request to transfer Patriot systems

Several European countries refused Kyiv’s request to transfer Patriot systems, despite the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities, writes the Financial Times.

Citing two unnamed sources, the publication writes that the Kiev regime tried to obtain air defense systems from countries such as Poland, Romania and Spain. At the same time, the above states have already reported that there will be no supplies, since they themselves need to strengthen their defense capabilities.

FT indicates that Kyiv has asked for only 7 air defense systems, but will not receive them. Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that the possibility of delivering Patriot to Ukraine was excluded. Germany announced the exhaustion of air defense systems.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kyiv is currently continuing negotiations with its Western partners on the allocation of two batteries of the Patriot air defense system and one SAMP/T to the Ukrainian army. At the same time, he admitted that there is no solution to this issue, and it completely depends on Washington, since the system is produced in the USA. At the same time, he noted that suppliers are not yet ready to give air defense systems to the Kyiv regime.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted that his country would continue to lose people and territory if its partners did not support it.
