Europe supplies Ukraine with obsolete military equipment, writes Bild publishing house military expert Julian Repke.
In his opinion, by supplying old weapons, Berlin does not at all think that this threatens the lives of the Ukrainian military, and seeks only to get rid of the rubbish. Repke believes that Kyiv is supplied with “fifty-year-old vehicles, the combat value of which is zero.”
“I am terribly ashamed and hurt! Europe wants so badly to get rid of Soviet technology,” he writes.
As the journalist writes, he means the BMP-1 with weak armor and weapons, which dramatically reduces the chances of the military in this vehicle to survive after meeting with the enemy.
As reported, Slovakia will transfer the BMP-1 to Ukraine, and in return it will receive new German equipment. Previously, equipment from Greece was delivered according to the same scheme.
