Media: completion of Yandex restructuring postponed to 2024

According to Reuters, the end of the restructuring process of Yandex has been postponed until next year. Agency sources familiar with the progress of the negotiations explained that the parent company of the Yandex group, Yandex NV from the Netherlands, intends to completely sell its Russian business and focus on the development of other projects at the global level.
One of the sources noted that all the necessary documents have already been transferred to lawyers. At the same time, Yandex NV is not sure that the process will be completed in December. The agency’s second source said the planned asset division is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
As Kommersant clarifies, on December 25, the Bank of Russia registered issues of ordinary and preferred shares of types A and B of the international company Yandex joint stock company.
The Central Bank also indicated that Yandex MCAO does not yet have an INN and OGRN. The press service of Yandex NV commented on the regulator’s decision, noting that the process of registering a new company in a special administrative region on Oktyabrsky Island in the Kaliningrad region is currently underway.
