According to information provided by The Wall Street Journal, Chinese central government officials are now banned from using American iPhones.
According to the publication, Chinese officials have been following the unofficial practice of avoiding the iPhone for several months. This action can apparently be interpreted as a response to the many restrictive measures taken by the US against Chinese technology companies such as Huawei and ZTE.
So, last year, the Biden administration banned departments from purchasing telecommunications equipment from both companies.
An iPhone ban for Chinese officials could have a negative impact on Apple, since the company receives about 19% of its income from China.
