US President Joe Biden told Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky that Washington will send a small batch of ATACMS long-range operational-tactical missiles to Ukraine. About it reported NBC channel, citing sources in Congress.

Officials did not specify when Ukrainian troops will receive new weapons. The official announcement of delivery has not yet been announced.

Assistant to the US President for National Security Jake Sullivan previously said that Washington would not yet send ATACMS shells to Ukraine. According to him, Biden will not do this in the near future, but does not remove the issue from consideration in the future.

ATACMS weighs about 2 tons, the cost of one guided missile is about $1.5 million. Their firing range reaches 300 km, such missiles can be launched using HIMARS MLRS, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces already have at their disposal.
