In the Czech Republic, the number of cases of criminal prosecution of citizens who support the Russian special operation in Ukraine is growing; since the beginning of hostilities, the police have examined almost 400 such cases, about a hundred people have been charged, transmits portal iROZHLAS.

As Czech Prosecutor General Igor Striz explained, cases of possible support for the actions of the Russian army can be considered under two articles on “approval of a crime” and “denial, approval and justification of genocide.”

Since the start of hostilities, police have investigated hundreds of complaints and brought criminal charges in 384 cases, according to police spokesman Ondřej Moravčík.

“121 cases concern approval and other forms of support for movements or terrorist organizations,” Moravcsik explained.

Police are also monitoring possible crimes related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But there are no special statistics on such conflicts, Moravcsik clarified. According to him, so far the police have registered 14 cases of extremism with an “anti-Semitic context.”
