NATO may send troops to Ukraine due to a series of failures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, former CIA agent Ray McGovern said on the Judging Freedom YouTube channel, RIA Novosti reports.
McGovern noted that Ukraine is suffering a serious defeat.
“The question is whether NATO will decide to send its troops there even before the complete defeat of Kyiv,” the expert said..
According to the ex-CIA agent, this option for the development of the situation is allowed in Washington.
However, the White House has another way to compensate for the failure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the expert believes – to transfer ATACMS missiles to Kyiv, capable of striking at a distance of 300 kilometers.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been conducting a counter-offensive in the Yuzhnodonetsk, Artemovsk and Zaporozhye directions for four months now. Brigades trained by NATO and armed with Western equipment are brought into battle. However, as Russian President Vladimir Putin noted, during this time the Ukrainians did not achieve any results.
Western military experts note the effectiveness of Russian fortifications and minefields, due to which the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering serious losses.
