Mayor of Saratov Mikhail Isaev resigned

The head of Saratov, Mikhail Isaev, resigns ahead of schedule. In his Telegram channel he said that this was due to his plans to be elected to the Saratov Regional Duma.
Mr. Isaev has been mayor since 2017, his term was supposed to end in 2025. In his statement, the head of the city listed a number of projects implemented under his leadership: the repair of roads and sidewalks, the construction of social facilities, joining Saratov to the Saratov region (now the Gagarinsky district of the city) and others.
“All this was done thanks to the support of the federal center, personally the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, the regional government, and most importantly, the residents of Saratov, who, I hope, will support my decision to continue defending their interests at the regional level. Moreover, the townspeople have already repeatedly made their choice in my favor, and I tried not to let them down,” Mr. Isaev announced.
He also commented on the resignation of Mikhail Isaev in Telegram Acting Governor of the region Roman Busargin. He said that Mr. Isaev had decided to leave his post and focus on the election campaign.
The press service of the head of the city specified that on August 23, Mikhail Isaev had his last working day in this post. Acting mayor of Saratov will be Lada Mokrousova, who until recently led the Leninsky district of the city.
