The mayor of the capital of Dagestan, Salman Dadaev, appealed to the deputies of the city assembly with a request to consider the issue of resigning from him the powers of the mayor “in connection with the transfer to another job.” It happened at a session of the city assembly, which was attended by the chairman of the government of the republic, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, and former Deputy Prime Minister Rizvan Gazimagomedov.
“I thank the people of Makhachkala for the great trust that was given to me! But in order for the city to develop further, I made a balanced decision to leave my post in connection with the transfer to another job,” Mr. Dadaev wrote in his Telegram channel at the end of the session.
In his speech, Mr. Dadaev focused on the fact that he and the leadership of the republic have different views on the development of the city, and made it clear that the decision to change the mayor of the capital was made at the level of the leadership of Dagestan.
