Since 2013, more than 260 themed trains have been launched in the metropolitan metro. Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov says that such trains are most often launched on the Sokolnicheskaya, Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya and Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya lines. Usually one such train runs for about 6 months. Plots for trains can be very different – history, culture, geography, social and political life of Russia, and so on.
So, for the past 10 years, passengers of the metropolitan metro could ride in trains dedicated to Russian organizations and departments (Active Citizen, Rospotrebnadzor, EMERCOM of Russia), Russian regions (for example, the Far East or Bashkiria), the 870th anniversary of Moscow, Cosmonautics Day, the Olympics in Sochi, Tolstoy, Mayakovsky and much more.
“We make travel in Moscow transport not only comfortable, but also interesting on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin,” notes Maxim Liksutov.
