Matviyenko called “excesses” during mobilization unacceptable

Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko called unacceptable local excesses to mobilize citizens who do not fall under the previously announced criteria. She urged the governors to control this issue.

The speaker of the Federation Council drew attention to complaints about incorrect cases of mobilization of citizens, “obviously not falling under the selection rules previously announced by the military leadership of Russia.” “It seems that somewhere they admit that it is more important to report quickly than to qualitatively fulfill an important state task. Such excesses are absolutely unacceptable,” Ms. Matvienko wrote in Telegram.

Valentina Matviyenko considers the “sharp reaction” to such cases of mobilization fair. In her opinion, even single mistakes should not be, given the “incredibly high level of patriotism, cohesion and support for goals in a special military operation.” “People should see the responsibility of the government and feel the openness and fairness of all its actions,” added the speaker of the upper house.

“Once again I ask each of you (each governor.— “b”) – consider that I am addressing personally – if necessary, around the clock, seven days a week, be in constant contact with the military commissars, in direct contact with regional ombudsmen and members of the public, but ensure that partial mobilization is implemented in full and absolute compliance with the announced criteria. President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization on 21 September.
