Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said she sees no need for an unscheduled meeting of the Federation Council due to referendums. This topic can be considered at the next meeting on October 4, she said.
“We respect the will of the residents of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, and if such is the will on their part, we will certainly support joining Russia,” Matvienko said.
According to her, on October 4, at a scheduled meeting, “if everything is confirmed,” the Federation Council is ready to consider laws on the entry of subjects into the Russian Federation.
