Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko believes that there is a demand for ideology in Russia. As Ms. Matviyenko noted, ideology should not be “unanimity”, as in the USSR. According to her, the ideology is already being formed through the speeches of President Vladimir Putin.
Valentina Matvienko believes that over the past three decades Russia has accumulated enough experience that needs to be ideologically comprehended. According to her, without ideology, Russia will constantly stumble in solving problems at home and in the international arena.
“The formation of an ideology is actually underway in our country. I mean, first of all, the ideas, provisions, assessments contained in the speeches, reports, articles of the head of the Russian state V.V. Putin,” wrote Valentina Matvienko in a blog in “In contact with”.
In addition, according to Valentina Matviyenko, “a lot of interesting things” were said during the discussion of the amendments to the Constitution. According to her, the documents of political parties, public organizations, as well as the works of scientists are also of interest in this regard.
At the same time, Ms. Matvienko noted that she does not call for the creation of a state ideology that is mandatory for everyone. “The experience of the Soviet Union is convincing evidence that unanimity is detrimental to the country,” wrote the speaker of the Federation Council.
