The production volume was expanded due to the reactivation of capacities, technical re-equipment and modernization of production lines. A press release from the Ministry of Defense notes that the minister visited the plant where ammunition for the Giatsint artillery complex is produced. The head of the plant also announced the expansion of capacity. The cartridges workshop was reconstructed and technically equipped, new equipment was installed in the workshop for the production of ammunition for 122-mm and 152-mm caliber artillery systems. A new ammunition assembly shop is being built, and it is planned to build storage facilities for shells.

Sergei Shoigu held a meeting following the results of inspections in the Nizhny Novgorod region. He noted that the production of components for artillery ammunition has increased almost 22 times. 75% of the components are restored, which “allows us to maintain a sufficient level of supply of shells to the special military operation zone.”

According to the minister, after the start of operation of new facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod region, production volume increased almost 2.5 times, and is ahead of schedule. According to Mr. Shoigu, the Ministry of Defense expected an increase in production volumes in the third quarter, but this was achieved after the end of the first quarter.
