On Saturday, May 20, “Perm Azimuth” will take place in the Chernyaevsky forest near DKZH. For many years, competitions were held in all regions with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. This year, the federal agency decided to reformat the event into a festival, which will be hosted by only two regions. Due to the great popularity of the competitions in the Perm Territory, we decided to continue holding them on our own.
“Every year the competition gathers more than a thousand participants only in Perm. Moreover, schoolchildren in whole classes, as well as older people, go to the start. And this is not just a race, but a practical skill in orienteering. Therefore, we considered it important to keep the competitions,” explained Tatyana Chesnokova, Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Perm Territory.
In this regard, the name has changed, now mass competitions are called “Perm Azimuth”. About 1000 participants will start at the start, regardless of age and physical fitness. A separate race will be organized for lovers of Nordic walking.
The opening of the competition at 11:30, the start of the first race will be given at 12:00.
