Another personnel reshuffle took place in the coaching staff of Lokomotiv football. The Moscow club announced the resignation of the German specialist Marvin Compper, who last season acted as head coach, and in the current championship he worked in tandem with his compatriot Josef Zinnbauer. Now the leadership of the team is completely entrusted to the latter, although it is possible that a Russian coach will enter his headquarters instead of Compper. Among the candidates for the role of Zinnbauer’s assistant, some sources even name Sergei Yuran.

Parting with Marvin Compper means that the period of dual power has ended in Lokomotiv, when the team was practically controlled by two mentors. It was established after the club signed a contract with Josef Zinnbauer in June this year. It was he who was introduced as the head coach, and Compper, due to the lack of a professional license, formally served as his assistant. Nevertheless, Lokomotiv did not hide the fact that both German specialists work in tandem on an equal footing. In addition, at first, Compper brought Zinnbauer up to date and helped him adapt to the new environment.

Komper himself, we recall, came to Lokomotiv together with Markus Gisdol last fall. Soon, amid the aggravation of the political situation, he left Russia, but Compper, who served as an analyst, remained at the club and received a promotion. However, officially, Dmitry Loskov and then Zaur Khapov were listed as head coaches under him. Not to say that Compper has achieved any success in his post. In the previous Russian championship, Lokomotiv finished only sixth. And in a duet with Zinnbauer, he performed unconvincingly. By and large, the railroad workers failed the starting segment of the current championship and are now only in ninth place with nine points, dangerously close to the play-off zone. In the eighth round, they suffered another defeat – at home from Akhmat 1: 2, even though they played in the majority from the 28th minute. Taking into account the Cup of Russia, Lokomotiv has already lost four times.

The club’s management had to react to such low sports performance and decided to blame Compper for the failures, which follows from the official wording about his resignation.

“Due to unsatisfactory results, Marvin Compper leaves the coaching staff of the first team— informed Lokomotiv press service. “From now on, the issues of forming the coaching staff, preparing the team and determining the composition for the game will be entirely up to the head coach Josef Zinnbauer.”

Meanwhile, information has already appeared in the media that a Russian specialist may be invited to the vacant position in Zinnbauer’s coaching staff. So, according to Sport-Express, Lokomotiv is considering the candidacy of Sergei Yuran, who recently headed Khimki.
