The Bryansk Palace of Martial Arts, the grand opening of which took place the other day, received an official address – Nikolai Korolyov Street, building 1.
The authorities of Bryansk decided to name the continuation of Happy Street from its intersection with Sovetskaya to Obyezdnaya after the outstanding Soviet boxer and partisan. The proposal to name the street after the Queen came from the boxing federation of the Bryansk region.
During the war, Nikolai Korolev was a member of the partisan detachment “Mitya” and saved the wounded commander.
As the detachment commander Dmitry Medvedev from Bezhitsa himself recalled, Korolev was his adjutant. When in the next battle he was wounded and could not walk, he ordered the Queen to move towards his own. It was impossible to get out, as the Germans were shooting through the clearing from temporary bunkers. Then Korolev pretended to give up, and then, seizing the moment, knocked out a German officer.
For saving the commander, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of War.
