Martial arts festival brought together 240 young athletes in Pomorie

On May 8, the regional center hosts a regional youth festival of martial arts dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports.
Starts brought together 240 young representatives of five sports: judo, ITF taekwondo, hand-to-hand combat, freestyle wrestling and kudo.
As part of the opening ceremony, special prizes were given to the best athletes following the results of the past season.
Special prize winners are:
- Yulia Rufova, winner of the championship of the Northwestern Federal District of Russia, participant of the Russian Spartakiad, champion of the Arkhangelsk region in judo, coach Vladimir Elagin;
- Trofim Kovalev, winner and prize-winner of the All-Russian kudo competitions, coach Vitaly Kovalev;
- Vadim Kaminsky, winner of the hand-to-hand combat championship of the Northwestern Federal District of Russia, coach Dmitry Shchegolikhin;
- Vladislav Karmanov, absolute champion of the Arkhangelsk region, champion of Russia in taekwondo ITF in the discipline “formal complexes”, coach Nikolai Chelpanov;
- Maxim Goryushinin, winner of the freestyle wrestling championship of the Northwestern Federal District of Russia, coach Dmitry Goryushinin.
Athletes from the Russian Center for Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art using acrobatics and gymnastics, performed with a demonstration performance.
