Martial arts center “Olimp” opened in Kushchevsky district

The new martial arts center, called “Olympus”, was solemnly opened in the Kushchevsky district. The ceremony was attended by Vice-Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Vlasov, Minister of Sports of the region Serafim Timchenko, head of the region Ilya Guzev.
The area of the sports facility is about 1500 square meters, it has 3 wrestling mats. The center is also equipped with a gym and medical rooms.
Alexander Vlasov noted that the emergence of new centers allows increasing the number of awards won by Kuban athletes and attracting more people to exercise.
Serafim Timchenko noted martial arts are traditionally highly developed in the Kuban and wished that the Center would become a home for both beginners in sports and professionals.
At the opening, the symbolic key to Olympus was presented to the best students of the local sports school “Leader”. They held demonstration performances in sambo, judo and wrestling.
Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev opening Kuban Youth Summer Spartakiad reminded that by the end of 2024 martial arts centers will appear in every municipality.
Previously, a native of Timashevsk Valeria Albul won gold medal at the anniversary world championship in Thai boxing in Bangkok.
