Manturov: trade between Russia and India exceeded $35 billion in 2022

The trade turnover between Russia and India last year exceeded $35 billion, said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, transmits press service of the government in the Telegram channel.

“According to the results of last year, the trade turnover between our countries increased by 2.6 times, exceeding $35 billion. We have completed ahead of schedule the task set by the leaders of our countries to reach the level of bilateral trade turnover of 30 billion US dollars by 2025,” he said.

The press service also said that during the 24th meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Indian commission, the parties considered issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of finance, trade, industry, energy, including nuclear, agriculture, transport, etc.

Last fall, from the Kremlin’s materials for the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Samarkand shouldthat in the first half of 2022, the trade turnover between Russia and India amounted to $11.5 billion, adding almost 120% compared to the same period in 2021.
