Manturov did not comment on the extension of parallel imports after 2023

During the Eastern Economic Forum, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov did not predict the possibility of extending parallel imports for 2024 and subsequent years, transmits RIA Novosti agency. At the same time, he clarified that the decision to extend parallel imports for 2023 has already been prepared.
“I would not make such predictions. Let’s proceed from the fact that for the time being we are talking about an extension for 2023, and then how it will turn out. But we are interested in our enterprises occupying a niche in the market,” he said, answering a question about the extension of parallel imports after 2023.
He also noted that the format of the current import mechanism will remain in 2023. According to Manturov, the list of goods will continue to be adjusted depending on the decisions of companies to resume or stop work in Russia.
The parallel import procedure involves the importation of goods into the country without the consent of the manufacturer or copyright holder. Products are delivered to customers not through a distributor, but through alternative methods. Putin signed a decree legalizing the import of goods into Russia through parallel imports at the end of June.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, said that the parallel import program would be extended for the next year. He also noted that anti-crisis measures, which are related to the simplification of cargo flows and trade within the country, the sale of certain types of medicines, etc., will be extended for another year.
