“No one detained me and didn’t bring me back, I came myself”
Andrei Markizov, who fatally hit a woman with a child on Saturday evening, said at a court hearing that he was not working. Answering questions from the judge, he replied that he had been fired. Earlier, we recall that it became known that Marquis served in the secret part of one of the law enforcement agencies.
As the correspondent of “MK” reported from the courtroom, where the issue of choosing a measure of restraint for Markizov is being decided, the man pleaded guilty. His lawyer asked to send Markizov under house arrest. The detainee’s mother vouched that her son would serve house arrest at his place of residence on Glavmosstroya Street.
At the same time, the investigator asked to send Markizov into custody, arguing that he had committed a particularly serious crime, tried to escape from the scene, and could threaten witnesses. The prosecutor recalled that the man was stopped by the police and returned to the scene of the accident. The policeman in the report indicated that he used handcuffs, as Marquizov tried to escape.
Marquis explained that after the accident he did not immediately realize what had happened, so it might seem that he was hiding. “I was in a state of shock, and so I went,” he said. He also denied the report of the policeman: “No one detained me and didn’t bring me back, I came myself.”
Markizov’s previous administrative offenses related to traffic violations were announced – speeding, non-compliance with marking rules and traffic lights.
