Psychologist Serebryakova spoke about the long-term rehabilitation of the singer MakSim

Marina Abrosimova, known as the singer MakSim, will have to go through a long psychosocial recovery process in order to overcome her alcohol addiction. Three factors can have a negative impact on her attempts to overcome the disease: readiness for long-term therapy, environment and lifestyle. This was announced by Daria Serebryakova, senior psychologist of the rehabilitation center in an interview. “Lente.ru”.

Serebryakova, acting as a practicing clinical psychologist, is optimistic about the rehabilitation process. She noted that their center is faced with very difficult cases, including patients with the third stage of alcoholism and various problems, so there is always a chance for recovery.

The psychologist acknowledged that this was not MakSim’s first attempt at treatment and stressed that she would need a long psychosocial recovery process with drastic lifestyle changes.

Just lying in the hospital and returning to the old environment and the usual rhythm of life is not enough. The rehab environment is one of setting strict boundaries, and unfortunately, this is at odds with the lives of people in show business.

Serebryakova identified three factors that can prevent MakSim from overcoming addiction. First, it is readiness for long-term rehabilitation. The psychologist recalled the bad experience of the singer Amy Winehouse, who returned to tour just a month after treatment. She urged the Russian artist to devote time to quality rehabilitation without performances.

“The second factor is the environment. MakSim states that her environment supports a sober lifestyle. However, it is clear that for a long time there were people who contributed to its use. She does not live in isolation, and her environment, of course, could affect her current condition. Therefore, it is important to limit communication with people with whom there have been cases of use, “the psychologist warned.

The third factor the specialist called lifestyle and habits. She pointed out the need to exclude the former regime associated with attending social events.
