Maine officials expel Trump from GOP primaries
How reports On CNN, a senior Maine election official announced that former President Donald Trump would not be allowed to participate in the local Republican Party primary.
As the channel notes, Maine became the second US state to exclude Trump from the 2024 ballot, citing the 14th Amendment of the country’s Constitution.
As a reminder, under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, no person shall hold any office in the service of the United States or any State who has “engaged in rebellion or insurrection against the country, or given aid or aid to the enemies thereof.”
